Knicks' Hart mocks Philly sports after sweeping 76ers in playoffs

New York Knicks guard Josh Hart questioned Philadelphia's status as a sports town after his team swept the 76ers in the second round of the 2026 NBA playoffs. The Knicks won Game 4 144-114 on May 10 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Hart scored 17 points with nine rebounds in the victory.

Miles McBride led New York with 25 points. Jalen Brunson recorded six assists and four rebounds, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 17 points, 10 assists and four rebounds. Hart, a Villanova alumnus, delivered the barb postgame: "I used to think Philly was a sports town, I don’t know if it is anymore."

Philadelphia's teams have struggled for titles outside the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Phillies last won the World Series in 2008 and recently fired their manager after a slow 2026 start. The Flyers claimed their last Stanley Cup in 1975 and suffered a second-round sweep in the 2026 playoffs. The 76ers' most recent NBA championship dates to 1983, with their last finals appearance in 2001.

Knicks fans filled the arena for Games 3 and 4. Philadelphia now eyes the Phillies' season and the Eagles' 2026 campaign.
