Boston Scott, a running back who spent six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, announced his retirement from the NFL via a statement on his social media accounts. The former sixth-round pick expressed mixed feelings about the decision, writing, "There is so much I’m proud of," and acknowledging "anger, bitterness, but also joy, and happiness."[1]

Listed at 5-foot-6, Scott played college football for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in Conference USA before the Eagles selected him in the sixth round, 204th overall, of the 2018 NFL Draft.[2][3]

In 75 regular-season games with the Eagles, including 12 starts, Scott rushed for 1,281 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also recorded 49 receptions for 571 yards and two touchdowns, and contributed on special teams with kickoff and punt returns.[2]

Scott earned the nickname "Giants Killer" for standout performances against division rival New York Giants, including 131 rushing yards and a touchdown on 34 carries in the Eagles' 31-15 wild-card playoff win over New York on January 21, 2022.[2][4]

Scott appeared in Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023, with three carries for 12 yards as Philadelphia lost 38-35 to the Kansas City Chiefs.[2]

Following the 2023 season, Scott joined the Los Angeles Rams' practice squad on August 27, 2024, before signing to the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad on October 15, 2024. He did not appear in any regular-season games for either team.[2]

Away from the field, Scott signed with esports organization Dignitas as a content creator in October 2023.[5]

In his retirement statement, Scott thanked his coaches, teammates and staff, noting his journey from a college walk-on to the NFL: "I'm thankful for everything the game has given me and my family."[1]
