Love Dazzles, Watson Toughs It Out As Packers Down Panthers

Green Bay beat Carolina 27-13 on Thursday night at Lambeau Field, with Jordan Love's efficient passing against pressure standing out as the Packers improved despite still waiting for newly acquired edge rusher Micah Parsons to make his debut. The win came with complications, particularly a shaky fourth quarter, but Green Bay held on against a Panthers team that entered the week atop the NFC South while the Packers sat fourth in the NFC North.

Love finished 15 of 19 for 130 yards and two touchdowns against Carolina's blitz-heavy approach, continuing to build a case for himself in a crowded MVP conversation that includes Josh Allen, Joe Burrow and Caleb Williams. Carolina's Bryce Young struggled in the same conditions, going 6 of 13 for 68 yards with a touchdown and an interception when blitzed, and 7 of 17 for 41 yards and a pick under pressure overall. His lone sustained success against the blitz came on a touchdown drive capped by a score to Jalen Coker, though he also dealt with pressure allowed by left tackle Rasheed Walker, who gave up seven pressures and a sack. georgia league 4 live

The game's most alarming moment came when Packers receiver Christian Watson caught a 52-yard pass in the first half and was involved in a collision with Panthers cornerback Will Lee that left both players down on the field. Watson was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with a chest injury, then returned to Lambeau Field and re-entered the game, adding one more catch for six yards. Watson has missed at least one game in each of his four NFL seasons since entering the league in 2022, a pattern that has limited his availability as a full-time WR1.

Green Bay will use a mini-bye before traveling to face the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium, a game that will coincide with Rob Gronkowski's induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame and Tom Brady's first appearance at the stadium as a broadcaster. Carolina returns home to host the Denver Broncos, a defense allowing the seventh-fewest points per game, with quarterback Bo Nix showing improved form after a difficult four-game stretch earlier this season.
